01 — Understand

Clarify the problem, intended decision, users, deliverables and constraints. Identify available information and the questions that still need evidence. Confirm who can provide access and who approves changes.

02 — Design

Develop the methodology or technical architecture, workplan and quality controls. Define the deliverables, responsibilities, assumptions and acceptance criteria. Where a requirement spans countries or teams, agree collaboration and data-access arrangements.

03 — Execute

Carry out the research, analytical or technical work in reviewable stages. Keep the assignment connected to the agreed objective and maintain a record of material decisions. Resolve issues with the client owner when they affect scope or delivery.

04 — Validate

Use checks that fit the work: piloting and field supervision for collection, reproducibility and peer review for analysis, and testing and acceptance reviews for systems. Investigate contradictory evidence and document limitations.

05 — Deliver

Hand over the agreed outputs in usable formats. Explain findings, assumptions, how the materials or systems should be used and the questions that remain. Include documentation, training or editable source materials where agreed.

06 — Support

Where required, define ongoing implementation help, maintenance, optimization or managed operations. Agree service hours, escalation, change control and exit arrangements. Support is scoped explicitly so both teams understand what happens after handover.
